Recent deliveries

It’s been a while since we caught our readers up on our recent trailer deliveries from Drake Trailers and O’Phee Trailers. The work we put into making the Drake Group 60th anniversary Open Day a success kept us busy but didn’t stop the team from building some stand-out heavy haulage trailers.

Customer in Focus Roma Transport

Every month we like to take time to say “thank-you” to our customers who make our business thrive. Not only do they afford us the opportunity to keep designing, manufacturing and servicing a wide range of heavy haulage trailers, but we enjoy meeting them and sharing stories about life on the road. In October we are celebrating our relationship with Roma Transport.

Drakes Oldest Registered Trailer

“Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.”

In honour of The Drake Groups 60th year anniversary, we went searching for Drake Trailer’s oldest registered trailer. We have always talked about the long-term reliability of the trailers we manufacture here at The Drake Group, and we wanted to put that to the test.

 Safe Work Australia

The Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy (2012 -2022) was released by Safe Work Australia back in 2012. Now, that’s a long time ago in our fast-paced society, so at the halfway point, an updated version was republished earlier this year following a mid-term review.

The trucking industry provides a valuable service to many of us but does so almost invisibly. While most people spend their work days inside, the tools we use and the products we consume are more than likely delivered to us through a complex network of trucks that we only see on roads during the daily commutes. However, there is a lot of change happening in the industry and the future looks brighter than ever.

Chain of Responsibility

Are you prepared for the changes coming to the Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws? We’ve talked extensively about the CoR laws that are due to come into effect on the first of October before, but in case you need a quick catch up:

It’s not every day that your business can celebrate 60 years of being in operation, so the team at The Drake Group threw the doors open for everyone to join in on the fun at their latest Open Day. Held on September 15 at their manufacturing facility in Wacol, The Drake Group Open Day was a chance to see the past, present and future of the company and have a lot of fun along the way.

Australian trailer manufacturer

With 60 years of proven experience under its proverbial belt, The Drake Group has owed part of its success to its commitment to quality in every aspect of its production. In addition to meticulously designing its range of heavy haulage trailers so they would easily handle even the roughest conditions Australian roads have to offer, the Wacol-based facility manufactures their own products. Therefore, maintaining the strength and durability of the trailer from initial concept to final product requires the best tools and materials available. Therefore, working with SSAB has become so important.
