Drake Trailers

Customer In Focus: Andrew Walter Constructions

As many of you know, we love celebrating our customers and the heavy haulage trailers we’ve built for them. Our highly experienced team pour their expertise and passion for building great trailers into every custom design trailer we produce, so that our customers can roll out the door with a trailer they know will serve their individual needs in the harsh Australian environment for years to come – and with great resale value once the dust settles.

So, to recognise our amazing customers and the hard work that goes into building our trailers, we focus on our favourite customer and their latest trailer from The Drake Group.

This month’s Customer in Focus is Andrew Walter Constructions, who took a recent delivery of their second Drake Trailer. This time around it was a 4X4 Full Widener Rear Steer – one of our newer models that’s quickly become one of our more popular trailers, and for good reason.

About Andrew Walter Constructions

If there’s one thing that Andrew Walter Constructions know well, it’s civil construction. Andrew Walter Constructions also has a straightforward philosophy we can absolutely get behind “We try always to do the right thing and produce quality work we can be proud of. We work on the theory that we tender the job and we get it right”.

Andrew Walter Constructions opened for business in Tasmania over 26 years ago and has since built his family-orientated business into an award-winning, highly respected civil construction business, that prioritises his people’s happiness – in fact, a large number of the Tassie companies 100-strong staff have been with the company since the beginning.

This is the kind of company that are experts across a range of civil construction services and their reviews are glowing. They focus on road construction, subdivisions, road rehabilitation, underground services, dam construction, retaining walls and structures, crushing and screening, sports ground construction and plant hire.

Heavy equipment requires a sturdy trailer

Andrew Walter Construction has a large variety of heavy equipment that helps them do the job at hand, including front-end loaders, dozers, graders, crushers, excavators and backhoes. So, it’s only natural that they’d need to invest in a durable trailer to safely transport their equipment.

The first Full Widener trailer with rear self-tracking axles was engineered and delivered to its first customer in 2014. Since then, we’ve made a few minor changes, including the ability to fit an optional radio remote to the self-tracking axles to steer yourself through tight areas. It’s an ideal trailer for any kind of environment.

Depending on your requirements, you can add the following extras to build a custom Full Widener (or on any of our trailers for that matter). They include:

  • Multiple position skid plate
  • Various axles sizes and deck lengths
  • Radio remote control steering
  • Winch
  • PTO lines, petrol or diesel power pack options
  • Radio remote control suspension
  • Hydraulic spare tyre crane
  • Various storage solutions

Want to see what a trailer with enhanced manoeuvrability, such as the Full Widener, can do for your business? Get in contact with The Drake Group today.
